Holidays in europe Summer Skiing

Summer Skiing in Europe – Yes it’s Possible!

After a few years of taking the same old package holidays to the beach, where you and your family often find yourselves stuck for something to do after the initial excitement has worn off, perhaps it’s time for a change.

If you’ve never tried skiing before, the slopes of the Italian Alps could just provide the change that you’ve been so desperately looking for. You may not even have been aware that a summer skiing holiday to Europe is possible, but not only is it possible, it’s a trip you will never forget.

Choosing the right resort

As with any holiday, choosing the right resort is an absolutely essential part of planning any family ski holidays to Italy. Club Med’s Cervinia Resort is the ideal base for you and your family to explore the slopes.

Located at the base of the Mount Cervin glacier, at an altitude of 2,050 metres, the Cervinia Resort has a luxurious mountain setting, hundreds of miles of pristine ski slopes and is surrounded by long stretches of stunning Italian countryside.

Introducing your children to the slopes

You’ll never forget the first time that you introduce your children to skiing or snowboarding and the peaks of Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn are the perfect place to do just that.

The Italian Alps are, by nature, an ideal place for beginners of all ages to learn how to ski, and the instructors at the Cervinia Resort’s on-site ski-school are on hand to make that process go ahead smoothly. Before you know it, your kids will be itching to join you on some of the more challenging runs that are on offer.

When skiing gets a little much

While children have seemingly boundless levels of energy, you and your other half may not be able to manage a full week or two of non-stop skiing.

Thankfully, with Club Med’s dedicated kids’ club happy to take your children off your hands for a few hours each day, you and your other half up will be free to enjoy a few well-earned afternoons in the Cervinia Resort’s spa and wellness centre. A quick massage should be enough to reinvigorate you and get you back on the slopes in no time.

Family time

While it may be nice to give your children their own little bit of freedom, dinner time is the ideal time for you and your family to spend some quality time together.

Awarded ‘Table Coup de Coeur’ status, and with a majestic, panoramic view of the Matterhorn, the Cervino restaurant is the perfect place to relax with your family and share stories about the day’s events, while tucking into some fine international and Italian cuisine.
